Spring 2008

We didn't do much this Spring break other than visit some old friends in Houston. We ate Indonesian food at this restaurant called Noodle 88. Then we had Taiwanese mango ice(very refreshing and sweet). After meeting up with bunch friends, we went to a Chinese karaoke place for rest of the night. I haven't sung any song in the public for at least couple of years, but after few beers, it made it easy for me. My wife and I sang an old Jay Chau song, "An Jing", and still pretty good at it. :-)

We stayed over night at a friend's house. He's a Houston Police, owns 5 guns. He always carries a hand gun with him after he joined the police force, because HPD suggested that they carry a firearm when they are off duty for safety reasons. I had chance to play with two of his guns. I'm thinking about buying a Glok 40 caliber handgun myself, but that's later.

Flying Saucer finally opened in Austin. It locates close to UT campus. If you love beer, that's THE place to go. It has close to 100 beers on draft, plus many more. I used to hate dark beers. After start drinking it, I fell in love with them. That's pretty much only thing I drink now days.

Beijing 2007

My first impression when plane landed at Beijing International airport was grey color sky. I thought it was because of cloudy condition, but it was actually partially cloudy. Sky is basically covered by a thick layer of grey color air. Even it's right after raining, the thick layer is still there. You can look directly into sun without any protections.
Since people started buying private owned cars in Beijing more than one decade ago, it has been out of control. There are just too many cars in Beijing area. Pollution is incredible.
Chinese government is going to control number of the cars on the street around Olympic time. Car's license plate ends with an odd number can come out on one week, even number can come out on the other week. That basically cut down the car numbers on the street by half. Hopefully that will out alittle bit, because the air definitely needs to be cleaned up during Olympic.

Going back to night shift

Sorry for the long delay on my blog. I haven't had chance to write anything lately. I'm also updating My Space on MSN at same time.
Yes, I'm going back to night shift this week, working Wednesday to Saturday every week from 12pm to 11pm. It's not the shift I wanted it, but as long as I'm in second shift, I'm fine with it. Hopefully, I can change to a better shift later.

Since I don't have to be at work until 12pm, I should start working out in the Morning instead of at night. My wife is fully supporting it!
